The Sixfold Ministry of CIS, Inc. -- Fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ Through Better Communications
Big, global visions like the one that drives Christian Information Service, Inc. forward require ministries in many focus areas. In order to be all that we believe God wants us to be, our board has authorized CIS, Inc. to develop six ministry program areas:
- CIS MISSIONS – Developing and supporting a professional missionary staff is priority one. This involves recruiting, supporting, and training full-time media missionaries who in turn are helping develop indigenous outreaches around the world.
- CIS NEWS – Communicating the good news is why we exist. This is done through skilled professionals in such disciplines as Christian advertising, book publishing, broadcasting, database management, direct response media, graphics, journalism, magazine publication, marketing, newsletters, newspapers, news services, photojournalism, videography, and website/internet.
- CIS MINISTRIES – Assisting indigenous missions is our ideal method. This is done by providing strategic development and communications services to missions at every level: local, national, international, and minority cultures.
- CIS CHURCH GROWTH SERVICES – The church is the Lord's chosen vehicle to proclaim the Gospel. CIS assists local churches with all kinds of strategic services and counsel including weekend training seminars for gifted media volunteers and staff.
- CIS TOURS AND SEMINARS – Around the world, CIS sponsors short-term missions and vision-sharing opportunities to challenge and train volunteers, missionaries, and local leaders.
- CIS MEDIA FELLOWSHIPS – Christian Media Fellowships help Christians in communication careers to better network and support each other. Secular media professionals need small group fellowships in order to fellowship, resist the challenges of the world and evangelize their peers in media businesses.
